This training package is for trainers looking to train airport managers in the key basics and considerations in wayfinding design in airports.
Wayfinding is an essential aspect of airport management given that it is essential to guide passengers to, around and through terminals in a safe and efficient manner, and in a way such that it is commercial viable and an enjoyable experience that passengers are likely to want to repeat. This workshop provides a solid foundation for understanding the impact of wayfinding design in airports.
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

✔ Know the key considerations in airport wayfinding.
✔ Learn ways to commercialise the movement of passengers in airports.
✔ Have an idea of how to go about auditing an airports wayfinding system.
✔ Understand the cognitive versus sociocultural elements and how they can be utilised in the design.
✔ Understand how to budget and manage the wayfinding system.
This trainer led course is largely trainer taught but does draw also on the experiences of participants, with examples discussed from as a group. Participants are asked to take 10 photographs connected to wayfinding prior- to the course and these became a very useful part of the course.
